Originally my career started as a mechanical engineer at a local well established engineering company.
From working as an engineer I have learnt skills I am able to apply to wedding planning, such as using positive communications, working in a diverse environment and the ability to think both critically and creatively.
I later moved into Logistics and this has also set me up for some excellent experience to use with wedding planning. As planning a wedding is logistics. Sourcing reliable suppliers, organising those many different suppliers to provide their services on the right date, at the right time and in the right place.
It has been a dream job of mine to become a wedding planner since I myself got married in 2008 and since I have assisted many friends and relatives with the planning of their weddings just for enjoyment. I was involved with things such as recommending suppliers, helping them draw up a timetable for the day and accompanying them to wedding fayres - all for the love of the game!
It wasn't until I was made redundant from my 9 til 5 job in April 2009 I decided to make my dreams into reality and start my own wedding planning business based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - Happily Ever After.
I picked the name Happily Ever After from the belief that most brides hope for their fairytale day, whether that be the most lavish day or a small intimate affair. For any bride they marry because they wish to live with the love of their life Happily Ever After.
I went on to train with the UK Alliance of Wedding Planning (www.ukawp.com), completing a step by step planning course and then fine tuning my skills on a wedding planning business course. Not only can I help with planning weddings but also Renewal of Vows ceremonies, Anniversary parties or Engagement parties or even your hen/stag party!
I've created Happily Ever After based on the belief that the customers needs are of the utmost importance and I am very committed to meeting those needs, being a wedding planner is now not only my dream but my passion.
